Child Care Operating Funding
Child Care Operating Funding (CCOF) assists with the day-to-day costs of running a licensed child care facility. This helps child care providers:
  • Keep parent fees affordable
  • Provide fair salaries to child care staff
  • Maintain quality child care for the community
The program is optional – child care providers can choose not to participate

Opening or Running a Child Care Program in BC
Running a child care facility or program has specific requirements, just like running any other kind of business. To help communities and child care providers plan, create or maintain child care spaces, government has a number of funding programs.


Ministry of Public Safety – Criminal Records Review Program 
The Criminal Records Review Act ensures that people who work with or may have potential for unsupervised access to children or vulnerable adults undergo a criminal record check by the Criminal Records Review Program (CRRP).

Westcoast Child Care Resource Centre Westcoast supports the healthy development of children, families and their communities by providing child development and child care information, referrals, training and resources for parents, caregivers and others who provide services to children and families.
Early Childhood Educators of BC ECEBC is the professional association for early childhood educators in BC, providing professional development, publications promoting high standards of practice and related resources.
BC Family Child Care Association A professional organization of family child care providers that believes in accessible, quality, inclusive child care services that support the needs of children, families and child care providers. Our goal is to promote, support and advocate for quality, inclusive family child care.
School Age Child Care Association of B.C. (SACCA) A province wide, nonprofit organization open to both professionals and students working or studying in the school age child care field. Our goal is to improve the availability of quality, affordable school age child care by providing programs and services to professionals in this field.
Coalition of Child Care Advocates of BC The CCCABC is a voluntary organization working to promote the development of a comprehensive, accessible and affordable non-profit child care system in B.C. and across Canada.
BC Aboriginal Child Care Society The BC Aboriginal Child Care Society is a provincial organization serving Aboriginal early childhood programs throughout British Columbia.
First Call: BC Child and Youth Advocacy Coalition  A non-partisan, province-wide coalition of over 90 provincial and regional organizations, engaged communities and hundreds of   individuals who come together to mobilize British Columbians in support of   strong public policies and the allocation of resources for the benefit of   children and youth.

Canadian Child Care Federation The CCCF is a bilingual, non-profit, member based organization committed to excellence in early learning and child care through partnerships, projects and resources.
Child Care Resource and Research Unit The CRRU focuses on research and policy resources, advancing a universal, high quality, publicly-funded, not-for-profit, inclusive system of early childhood education and care in Canada.
Child Care Advocacy Association of Canada The CCAAC is a non-profit, membership based organization dedicated to promoting quality, publicly funded child care accessible to all.
Canadian Association for Young Children  The Canadian Association for Young Children (CAYC) was granted its Federal Charter in 1974. To this day, the CAYC is the only national association specifically concerned with the well being of children, birth through age nine – at home, in preschool settings and at school.
